I have floaters? |
I have floaters in my eyes, I am a dental lab technician and work on very small objects (teeth) and work a lot under a 10 power microscope. There's very poor lighting in the lab and the lab is very dusty. Can my profession make my floaters worse? Is my job causing the floaters? I haven't seen a doctor yet, I'm not aware of anybody in my family having it but I've never asked. Everyone has floaters, they usualy come when you look into light so the cornea is revealing the layer of jelly on your eye and what rests on it. If they occur when its dark id book an appointment with an optician. Are you stressed or anxious? Thyroid problems can cause it aswell. I don't know if lighting makes it worse. But I do know that it's genetic. Everyone in my family has them. Including me. There's no way to get rid of them. But if you start getting the little flashes that look like explosions, you need to see an optomitrist. Have you seen an optomitrist for it?? I don't think your profession will cause this to worsen. I have been getting floaters too and the optometrist informed me that it is part of aging. It is caused by the break down of vitreous humor (liquid within the eye) and the way light refracts off it. If you are concerened about it see an optometrist or opthamologist. Good luck! Yes bad lighting and eye strain , more important illnesses such as Lyme in the chronic stage , Ms , brain legions many things can cause floaters Best to get to the eye doc don't play with your eyes you don't get another pair. Everyone has floaters at one time or another, they are very common. They are the tiny particles in the vireous fluid of your eye. |
