Should I be concerned about "benign eye floaters"?

I have little spots and squiggles on my eyes, mostly the left eye. I can still see fine and everything, most of the time I don't even notice them. I looked them up online and figured out that they are benign eye floaters. But the information also said that it's a normal part of aging. I'm only 23! I have pretty bad eyesight (I'm very nearsighted) and I guess I'm mostly just concerned because the floaters are worst in my left eye and that's the eye with the worst vision.

This happened to me around that age also. My floaters come and go, but were not an indicator of a bigger problem. The best thing to do is to see an eye specialist and have them check your retina to make sure there are no tears. That is the only way to really know if the floaters are benign.

I've had floaters since I was a little kid. I also have very bad vision. I wouldn't worry about them. In fact, although I used to have several of them and often noticed them, now that you mentioned them, I haven't seen any for quite some time.

i see my optometrist at least twice a year. i've had floaters since i was about 13 and its only gotten slightly worse. they are benign so you shouldn't worry so much. the thing you should worry about is white flashes..those are associated with floaters, but those can be a cause for concern if they start showing up.
