"Floaters" in the eye? |
Does anyone here have experience with dealing with eye floaters? I have like one or two that have been around for a couple years now, and they still bug me from time to time (especially when I'm looking at a white wall or computer screen). Is there a good way to deal with this, or ignore them, or to kinda move them out of the way? I try to roll my eye around to move it out of the way, but it doesn't always seem to work. Thanks! Oh gosh, floaters... I hate them. They're annoying little buggers! But anyway, usually floaters will never go away. It's not nice to say or think about, but you'll just have to ignore them. It helps sometimes to look down, or look at a dark place for a moment. It helps you to 'forget' about them momentarily. Probably should get your eyes checked out My mother is going thru this now----not to scare you at all--but at first she got drops--went back to the doc, and was given a shot into her eyeball----they still didnt clear--she has had 3 shots in one eye and 2 in the other---still not gone--she is now scheduled for surgery to scrape the eyes, before that this friday she is going to Cleveland Clinic to have them checked for disease or to see if anything can be done instead of surgery. My advise go see your doctor AND and eye specialist. Check out this website. Lots of info: i have a few in each eye they came on about 2 and a half years ago ,i went to all sorts of specailist and no one seemed to care ,there pretty common, but unless you have them no one seems to mention them so when you first get them you freak out a bit ,ive learnt to look at the go part of my vision and i think things could be worse ,im the same any bright white or blank walls they show up more, and also fluro lights drive me crazy, enjoy yourself more and concentrat on all the good things in live the less you think about them the happier you will be ,and bronze tinted sunglasses seem to help to .trie to focus on what your looking at and not look for the floaters .good luck chopersean I found that eye drops that lube and wet the eyes helps. Use them about 4 times a day. Don't use any eye drops that claim to get the red out. Floaters are very common and VERY annoying. You have a jelly-like fluid inside the eye called the vitreous. And sometimes it can clump up and cause you to see shadows from them. Currently there is nothing that can treat them or make them go away. Usually over time gravity will push them down so you dont see them as much or you get used to them being there and you dont notice them as much. But if you ever start to see flashes of light - then get to your optometrist asap!! Sometimes they can pull on the retina(which would cause you to see the flashes of light) which could cause a hole. If you havnt had a routine eye exam in the last 2 years - I would recommend you make an appt just to check the health of your eyes. Hope this helps common, but this may be a sign of a detached retina or if your rx is a -4.00 or higher. blink them away and try not to stare for a long time |
