Can humans get flea bites?

My cat gets fleas and he is an indoor/outdoor kitty. We judiciously use Frontline Plus but he seems to get them still. He isn't infested or anything but I still see the flea droppings which is evidence of fleas. I know he should NOT be in our bed but he just loves us so much. Well, my boyfriend says his legs are itching like crazy and he has small red bumps all over them. My legs have been itchy as well but I thought the bumps on my legs were caused from shaving like ingrown hairs. The most obvious solution is to keep poor Sunshine outside. However, I'm just wondering if these really could be flea bites or something else like bedbugs (which really do exist!). Oh, we live in Michigan so most of the fleas are just coming out now. Even if we put him outside all the time, wouldn't we have to do de-flea our home? Our house is huge! I can't believe what an ordeal this would be. We also have indoor dogs but the Frontline Plus seems to work well for them and I don't see fleas.

Yes you can--they make red bumps and itch--Try-(Adams Flea Spray)--spray your dogs/cat and anywhere they stay in your house--including your bed--it will not stain, but will definately work! Smells good too! I have Dobies/ 2 little dogs-(house dogs)-well worth a try!!

Sounds like flea bites...they are very itchy and are a pain to get rid of....talk to your vet about a stronger solution or if you are applying it correctly...

yes! humans can get bit by fleas. anything can.

YES, YOU CAN GET BITTEN BY FLEAS, I WOULD TRY A DIFFERENT TOPICAL FLEA PRODUCT. YOUR VETERINARIAN SHOULD HAVE OTHERS YOU CAN TRY.

Yup, humans sure can get flea bites. I'm not a fan of keeping pets outside or banning them from their humans lives. Besides, you cannot ban a pet outdoors in the cold Michigan winters, no matter what sort of "protection" you think you're giving the pet. And it's not psychologically and emotionally fair to the animal. Just find a better flea killing medicine. Take your cat to those periodic flea dips that various groups put on or have it more professionally treated by your vet. Are you letting your cat roam in places you don't allow your dogs to roam? It's probably getting fleas from those areas. Keep your cat indoors and it won't be able to get into fleas. If a cat is an outdoor cat, keeping it indoors will drive you and the cat crazy for a while, but everyone will eventually get used to it. Once you get the fleas under control, it will be easier to keep them under control.

Yes of course fleas are going to be humans just as much as animals.

Yes, you can definitely get flea bites. I know because on occasion our cat has a few fleas and they always seem to find me - I must taste good. Sorry for the bad news.

Fleas like human blood just as well as animal blood. The Front-line Plus should work.I think you need to flea bomb you're house & vigorously vacume &launder all sheets, blanket, curtains & pet beds. You'll need to keep it up for at least a couple of months. Check between the bed mattress & the box spring for Bed Bugs.
