I have been getting flea bites and I'm scared of diease?

Hello. For the past few months I have been getting flea bites on various parts of my body due to working in a house that has fleas. Im starting to get nervous that I am going to catch an illness due to the bites. Does anyone know how likely it is to catch a disease from a flea bite?

Mostly you would become hypersensitive to flea bites as long as you work in that house. That just means you would itch and swell up more than normal. Diseases you CAN get from infected fleas (but extremely rare in this day and age--and more from 3-world countries) are:
Plague: A bacterial disease carried by rodents that is spread through the bite of an infected flea.
Tapeworm: An intestinal parasite obtained by swallowing an infected flea.
Murine Typhus: A disease spread by the bite of a rat flea.

Again, this is highly unlikely. If they are from a domestic dog or cat, you'll be fine.

Not to worry, I've been bitten a lot this year by fleas.
I don't think you'll pick up any germs an allergic reaction
may be the worse thing.I've more worries than you I have
a heavily wooded back and front yard with about 15 deer
coming through a day plus loads of nasty ticks and whatnot. I'm the one who should be scared.
