yack thats gross.
first buy some foggers to kill all fleas and worms in the rooms sh e lives in.
throw away all the blankets if possible burn them and get someone to donate clean new ones.
have that dog taken to the local shelter to get some help.
and re spray the rooms with flea sprays.

your friend should get also a medical check up fleas and worms can carry lots of disease.
specially if a dog is in and out of the house.

she can also benefit from applying tea tree essential oil on the bite wounds. its an natural antibiotic and disinfectant. and she can also use some to spread around the room on the floor so insects dont come in.
the scent is strong but its very effective.

im not saying that I am the exterminator, but I know how to fight fleas (first hand experience)simply put a lot of salt on the floor it will dehydrate their exoskeleton...causing imminent death in about 2 weeks-as for the dog,I don't know...but defintely take it to the vet
