Ok, i have a question, My family was diagnosed first with flea bites then after 3 weeks of agony? |
the doctor diagnosed our family with scabies. We got these scabies as soon as we brought a new puppy into the house. I put him in the bed with me that morning and let him sleep cuddled in my arm and woke up with a very very itchy rash that day that was all over my arm, it looked as if 50 fleas bit me there and that is why the doc first thought flea bites after a week of it not going away, well then i went back and another doc said that is scabies and gave me and my family 5% permethrin cream for them BUT it has been 2 weeks today and when i come in contact with my already washed bedding many many times since the treatment i am breaking out in a rash?????? My whole family got it terrible also and are still a bit itchy. Sadly the pup died last week from parvo so there is no way that we could be getting them from him anymore (BTW, he was also treated the same day as us for scabies),what i need to know is why am i breaking into a rash like this ,was it really scabies we had or what????? Itching may continue for 2-3 weeks, and does not mean that you are still infested. Your health care provider my prescribe additional medication to relieve itching if it is severe. No new burrows or rashes should appear 24-48 hours after effective treatment. Check out this site: http://www.cdc.gov/NCIDOD/DPD/parasites/... Hi, sorry about your puppy and other. Been there, it is no fun. Just retreat again, and put bedding in trash bags for two weeks, then clean again. Scabies and lice are another thing we have to deal with our public schools. You can take Benedryl to help relieve swelling and itching. Aveno lotion or oatmeal baths may help too. Good luck to you. fleas may have got into your matress or pillows, maybe get pest control round... Sorry about that. Well first..you have to clean up your house (especially the beddings) because some fleas are still present. Have you tried the Kwell lotion, these should applied to ALL family members. For as long as their is one person harboring the flea..anyone else who has none will get (will transfer through beddings or carpet, pillows). This lotion should be applied before bedtime. Itchiness will be there for a week or two but still continue the medication. Hope this helps. God bless! |
