Developed diarrhea, flatulence, bloating after my Vacation to Philippines Please help! as I attend meetings :)

After my trip to Philippines which was wonderful, I developed a bad case of diarrhea, flatulence and bloating. I expected some of this, so after, I took immodium for 1 week which helped a little, but dont want to take too much of that. So then I took some pro biotic bills called Acidophilus I believe and that helped a little more, but I still have very soft and occasionally watery stool and flatulence that can clear a room 2 months after my vacation. Well I have to attend many meetings with many good folks and I tell you when I break wind, it is 50 times as worst then my normal ones. It smells like a sewer, as if a sewer rat crawled up my butt and died. Man this is embarrasing. Please give advise if you have some.
Thanks
Tom

please call your doctor

Most trips to other nations specially the ones that are known for life-threating diseases they will tell you what to look out for when you get there or when you get home.

I dont know exactly what all you can catch. But i Really Suggest you go to the doctor to find out what it is and how it can it be cured.
But if your against doctors, than look up each symptom on either webmd.com or other home health websites and do it quick for the sake of everyone elses scent-glands

Sorry to hear your plight. You might have more that a simple diarrea. So far you have tried to treat the symptoms and not the possible cause. It may be that you have caught some other bugs beside a simple gastrointestinal bug.
Go to your doctor if the problem persists. Tell them of your recent trip and make sure a stool culture is done in addition to the routine tests.
