Planet Fitness rules and regulations?

I was thinking about joining planet fitness since they are cheaper then my current gym. My only hesitation is that I have heard different stories about the workout rules at Planet Fitness based around their "judgment free zone" slogan. Things that I have heard include:

-You are not allowed to grunt or make straining noises while working out.
-You are not allowed to set a weight down in a loud manner.
-Some of the heavier dumb bells being taken away to discourage bodybuilders.
-If you drop a weight they will actually call attention to you so that people can make fun of you.

I find it hard to believe that any of this could be true at any place that considers itself a gym and/or fitness center but I was hoping that someone could maybe tell me about any experiences they have had with Planet Fitness. I am by no means a bodybuilder but I do like to do resistance training and sometimes that involves straining or setting a weight down hard. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Damn! is that place run like a communist country or what?! and you said you have to paid for using their facilities?!?! hell no! Shop around other non-chain gyms., if you have a friend who's into fitness encourage him/her to enroll with you so the both of you can enjoy the 2-for-1 buddy discount most gyms offer.

No matter how low a price is, no one should be pressured or restricted like that. Respect yourself, avoid been humiliated for things that have no meaning in order to save a few bucks. I can't believe it, it's a gym, not a library for cry out loud!.
