Does anyone know of a patient who has had rectual fistulas? |
I have a family member who has had 10 rectal fistula surgeries! I pray for him,all the time.But how many surgeries does it take.He has tried to return to work,between surgieries,over the past 2 yrs.Is there any other options besides surgeries out there?He is a single dad with 2 kids.It would be wonderful to think ,some type of cure is out there.Thanks! Rectal fistulae are notorious for recurrence. If a surgeon who has more experience with them tries cleaning the complete track, and patient takes precautions to avoid constipation, there may be hope. Other option is homoeopathy. Some people are prone to getting recurring problems, there isn't any preventative treatment for fistulas! |

Rarely. Usually the fistulas are caused by continuous stretching and tearing. They can get worse with the years. Go ahead and have the repair surgery. You will be SO HAPPY YOU DID!!! Len... DUDE....I don't know, but I'd see about that as quickly as I could.....somebody stick a fist up your butt...? ...I am 51 now but had an anal fistula removed surgically ca. 15 years before (July 1991 to be exact). My post op was not painful. The wound is left open - no stitches or anything. It has to close by ... |
