I had asked a question regarding small holes in my butt crack. And I got a response that they were fistulas?

I did research on the internet about anal fistulas. But what I found was that they generally occur near the rectum however my small holes are near my tailbone and in my butt crack so could this just be the early stages of fistulas or something? thanks!

fistula generally means connection between one epithelialized surface to another epithelialized surface. anal fistulas are painful/ burning in nature. It's high in people with constipation. laxatives, change in food habit like more green vegetable, sitz bath, exercise helps.

however your's sounds more like a sinus. congenital ones. which is normal finding in some individuals. it could have a blind end or if connected to the anus/ rectum, some complain of mucoid discharge from there, but most are asymptomatic. nothing needs to be done about it if it is not giving any trouble.

however if still in doubt or fear, i best suggest that you refer your doc about it.

I have never heard of such a thing, Go see a docor right away. End of story!
