Fistula in Ano/anal?

I'm just really curious on how the surgery procedure will go and what the outcome will be like? Has anyone had this done before? My fistula is like 1inch away from my anal plus, theres another bump right beside it, it hurts my whole right buttock...is that how its suppose to be like?? I can't walk or do anything. Can someone just clue me in, on how you felt? Thanks in advance.

This is similar to a hemorrhoidectomy in terms of recovery, that is, your hospital stay will be short. Be aware that that bump your describe, is part of the problem, an infection has formed an abscess in tubular form and is chronically present. The tube, the fistula, must be opened for it to heal, and the infection it causes to be stopped. You will require pain medicines, Sitz baths with your "cheeks open" for best results, usually several times each day. Additionally, it will be necessary for you to use stool softening agents, several at first, to keep your stools soft and easy to pass.

i answered your other question..but it hurts because their is an infection..and it needs to be removed aka drained..thats why you have pain and pressure...the bump you talk about..its most likely a strep infection as you will see later on with the results that come back from the lab....they will give you antibiotics and pain killers i am sure...this is just how i felt girl..i had a peri-rectal abscess then a horseshoe ishio-rectal abscess.....then its been drained in the office so many times i can't count....i mean its been drained in the office...maybe 10 times...once you get on some type of anti-inflammatory type medications(after they diagnose what you have colitis crohn's by colonoscopy) these things will stop happening..the infection started inside of your body...its not your fault and you couldn't prevent it...hot sitz baths tonight or sitting in a hot tub will really help you alot...i know just how you feel....you will be better soon...email me if you have questions:) hugs
