What causes a rectal "Fistula"?

Can be caused by Crohn's disease, cancer, diverticular disease etc.

My husbang had one a few years ago. The dostor told him that he needed to stop sitting in a desk chair for such prolonged periods of time and that he also needed to get a better desk chair. I don't know if that is what actually caused it, but since following those recommendations, he hasn't had another one.

usually Crohns Disease

There is no easy answer for this one - often you cannot find an actual cause.

However, there are a few conditions that make them more common, and they include diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, and occasionally trauma.

If you have a fistula, your doctor will do some tests to make sure that you don't have any of these things, but more often than not there is no particular cause - it is just one of those things.

Drink plenty of water, avoid constipation by eating lots of fibre, get lots of exercise, and avoid tight clothing. All these things can help a little, but you may need medical intervention.

Acid generally so keep away from pickles or anything with vinegar// your doctor can give you xyloproct ointment for that it will stop the sorenesss especially when you have a bowel movement
