What else i can keep in my First aid box?

I have recently made a new First Aid Box at home.I kept many things like cotton,cotton buds,bandage.toothpicks,a bottle of anticough syrup,painkillers,tablets for gastric problem,a small plastic bag which contains some things like scissors,blade,picking up stick and many...,4 skin ointment..one for pain and the other are for allergies and injuries,2 teeth floss,Gentian violet for teeth and mouth and obviously Antiseptic lotion to stop bleeding...i have kept "Detol"....If u think that it is still incomplete then give me some more ideas.plz! tell me about the subtitutes of everything that i kept in my First Aid Box.Plz! help me in making this box coz its really,really helpful for everybody and i advise u people to do the same.We dont know ,any time anything can happen with us...so be ready!!!!!even if u cut ur fingure by a knife this box can help uuuu!!!so think abt it...well I think most of u have it....

Everything depends on how much money you want to spend.

Prefab kits are usually cheaper, but lack supllies that I like to keep handy. I did notice you're mission some 4x4 gauze pads, rolled gauze, triangular bandages.

Here's what I have in my jump bag. You can pick and chose what you like:
* 12 4"x4" sterile gauze pads
* 3ea Large/Small rolled gauze (nonsterile)
* 4 triangular bandages
* 1 box assorted band-aids
* QuickClot (clotting agent for major bleeding)
* Trauma sheers
* 2ea Cold/Hot packs
* handful of triple antibiotic ointment
* Tweasers
* PeptoBismol
* Benadryl
* Alcohol Prep Pads
* Hydrogen Peroxide
* Pocket Mask (for CPR)
* Oropharyngeal Airway Adjunct (BLS Airway)
* OTC Bronchiodialator (friend has asthma)
* 1 small bottle each: Aspirin, Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, Aleve.
* 1 jar Icy/Hot or VapoRub
* Handful of bite/string relief ointment packets
* Glucometer kit
* Cake Icing (sugar for diabetics)
* Vomit bag (empty, obviously)
* Blood pressure cuff/stethoscope
* Special hangover relief concoction.

If you have the money, you could probably buy an automatic external defibrilator. I believe those are OTC now. That is, if you have several thousand to blow. It all comes down to money/space and what you want to have in it.

Also, be sure you aren't exceeding the scope of your care. The Good Samaritan Law will let you practice some limited medical treatment up to a BASIC level. No open heart surgery or C-sections please!

Do you have a Laerdal mask for giving expired air resuscitation? Much better than mouth to mouth!

I also keep rubber gloves.

Tape - LOTS of tape (you wind up using it to stick lots of other things together)

Simple pain relief - paracetamol (aka acetaminophen) or ibuprofen or something.

A triangular bandage or two to make a sling.

an alcohol burner to heat a blade for cauterizing.

sounds like a great box...did you mention
a stingoes product to use for bites and itches
or a burn-aid gel
maybe some sort of eye washes

what about emergency candles and a lighter? if your box is big enough, but an emergency blanket in it, too(preferably wool). keep it somewhere like in a basement or closet floor and make sure all knows where to get it from. you never know............................

You should NEVER keep tablets in a first aid box becuase if people are allergic to them they will only make them worse instead of better , all the other contents look good :)

What about some antihistamines, in case you have an allergic reaction or get stung by something!

Tweezers in case someone gets a splinter!

A sling incase someone hurts their arm.

Apart from that I think that you have it covered!

Now you have the first aid box together I hope you dont need it :o)

tape, twizors for splinters..some thread and a needle and some alchol.

Also put a list of all medications and alergeries+ emergency numbers

It sounds like you have got many necessary items in this first aid kit, I have always made sure I also have things like, gloves, safety pins, adhesive tape, forceps & pencil and paper in case quick documentation of anything is necessary and you can never find one handy when you need it.

cling wrap for burns (after the burns have been cooled with 20 minutes of tap water cling wrap is great)

safety pins for the slings, aqueous cream bp - also for burns.

What you should have in you emergency box is 2 x 2 Gauze pad, insect sting relief pads, Alochol Cleansing pads
Painkillers, Antibiotics ointment like Neosporin, Eye Wash liquid, Antiseptic cleansing wipes, First aid/burn cream, different sizes of gauze dressing pads, Instant Cold compress you could buy it at your local pharmacy, Triangular sling/bandage, Cotton swab, CPR barrier with one way valve, Reusable hot/cold compress, All kinds of bandages for knuckle, elbow & knee, fingertip, better butterfly closures bandage, sheer bandages, waterproof bandages, gauze roll bandage, 5 x 9 Trauma pads, Cleansing & Refreshing Towelettes, Safety bins, Scissors, lip ointment, emergency blanket, tweezers, Thermometer, one time use, Sterile eye pads. If you have any further questions you could call First Aid Only at 1-800-866-6659 and you could purchase items that you don't have. I am about to do the same to refill my kit. One last things extra latex gloves

dressings, gauze, bandages, safety pins, small slings, rubber bands, plasters, small bottles

ToothPASTE, [not gel], is good for bug bites and bee stings. You also need something in case of accidental poisoning. Dont forget emergency phone numbers.
