What causes fingernails to bend outwards?

This is the strangest thing I have ever seen! I don't really think it is doctor worthy but I can't seem to find anything online. Every once in a while, the tips of my fingernails will bow out in the opposite direction- upwards..then they will go right back to normal. It must happen slowly because I can't feel it and no, I haven't slammed them into anything recently (did jam them about 10 years ago)

sometimes excess calcium... also a nail infection.. or too small of shoes...

I don't know if this happens to you in all your nails, or just
a few or just one, but this happens to people.
I would try taking Vitamin E, calcium supplement and see
if this improves.
You might be lacking one of these vitamins or perhaps some
minerals and that's why your nails bow out.
Your health has a lot to do in how your hair and nails look and feel.
Make sure you have good rest, 8-9 hours minimum and
eat a well balanced diet. That might help.
Any chronic illnessess? That might do it too.....
Just to give you some ideas...
Good Luck.
