Ridges On Fingernails ? |
Can anyone tell me what causes slight ridges to form on fingernails running from cuticle to tip? Is it a vitimin defitiency? A deficiency in B-Complex can cause ridges on fingernails. Yes it can be caused by a vitamin deficiency! So can horizontal ridges. Aging, poor absorption of vitamins and minerals; thyroid disease; kidney failure. ive heard its from stress It is probably a vitamin deficiency, or if you also have slight pitting of the nails this could be a symptom of psoriasis. well...............maybe from lung problems .....do ya have.......if not,then maybe from thyroid,infections,or kidney problems..............check on these......are ya taking a multivitamin w/proper nutrition.....try this and see...good luck............ It is also a sign of calcium deficiency - more milk. been thru that! its diet and vitamin deficiency.. if you like peanut butter it is high in protien. let it happen naturally and one day ( afew months) you'll have nice looking nails, that should be stronger also. if you doing any drugs...stop that.not smoking and your skin stops looking gray. eat either fish or beef once a week, there is an enzyme that the body requires to stay alive...drink water and your skin becomes vey supple Damaged nail beds is my guess ... I have them from years of gels nails ... Aint they a pain? i was told that it had something to do with drugs any type of drug that you might be on. if you go to the chemist you can buy a 3 or 4 way nail buffer, that will take the ridges down and make them look nice and healthy. |
