Why do some black men grow their fingernails long?

I've noticed quite a few African men seem to grow the fingernails of their little finger long, but keep their other fingernails short. Is this some sort of tradition?

its the same reason white people keap there pinky long. FOR DRUGS!!! its not just black people all the pot heads at my work do it and they are all white plus my uncle and a few white guys in my classes. ive actualy never seen a black guy with a long pinky nail
