Index finger injury. Do I see a Dr.?

About three weeks ago, I was in a dumb fight and my opponent socked, kicked against, (cannot remember) my right-handed index finger.

It was a whole lot worst at first, coult not type or clean myself after using the bathroom, but I applied a cool pack, dipped it in hot water to reduce swelling, inflammation, used ice as well, but to this day, it hurts when I press the center of it.

I did some minor research and I have learned I have pain on the extensor tendon, the top, outer area of the finger, and the distal inter-phalangeal joint, the space which separates the tiny bones of a finger. It might be swelling or a popped nerve. Don't know. Should I see a Dr. just for this? I can move the finger. Curl, bend it, but the pain is right there.

It''s a good idea to see your doctor. Simple injuries should be better after one week and it's been 3 weeks now.

If you don't get it properly treated you may do more damage.

If you are really worried about it then just go see the Dr. he could tell you quick what it is. If you dont want to go then just keep soaking it in hot water and ice packs. It could just be bruised but Dr. is probably only who could tell you for sure.
