Help! I think I seriously injured my finger, possibly broke!? |
Ok well if you look at my other qestion I was jogging up the stairs and I whanged my left middle finger super hard on something near the joint in the middle. Yesterday I had full range of motion and it did hurt for a while, but stopped a little, and when I first hit it, it made slight poping sounds (my broken arm did the same thing and I couldstill move it), now its getting very hard to move my finger on my own and it hurts badly to manually bend it towards my palm. On the inside where I hit it (or twards the area) its turning purple. I've hurt my finger before but it didn't hurt like this and I could still stiffly move it. Did I break my finger??? (I have heard of injuries where people could still move the broken bone and my injured arm did not hurt at all) If you have the following symptoms, this means a fracture has occurred and you will need to go to the ER to have an x-ray done- pain, swelling, discoloration, heat and warmth, limited ability to move, and deformity. If you haven't already, in the meantime you can apply ice for 15-20 min each hour for the first one to two days. I would most definately get an x-ray done if you feel it may be broken. Having an x-ray done is the only definitive way of knowing if it is broken or not. Go to the doctor and have it checked out. it aint broken go to the hospital they will have to do an x-ray go see the Doc. i c u can still use it so no worries get an xray then you know You probably did. Go get it x rayed. In the meantime, you can buy a splint anywhere and tape it up. That will help with the pain. slight possbility an injury wel la long time ago my bro was hammering soemthing and he wanted me to hold the nail :O i did he slammed my pinky is was purple and bloody so what you do it get some medical wrap and go see a doctor :) probably not broken if you could move it yesterday relatively pain free! When you hit it, you probably broke small blood vessels around the joint and area of impact. This blood seeps into the joint and that is what is probably making it still and painful. If you don't feel like going to get x rays try taping the finder to the finger next to it! Go to the doctor. You can't get yahoo answers to make a health diagnosis for you. How in the world do we know if you broke your finger. Are we there with you examining it and even if we were with you not to many of us on here have been to medical school. So if you want just a random bull sh!t answer with no facts or truth behind it Sure your finger is broken. I suggest that you take to popsicle sticks and put one on each side of the finger then wrap some duct tape around them to hold them in place. Leave on for 6 weeks and you should be better. go to the doctor so he can no for sure what happend and stuff. I fractured my fingure before playing flag football. Pretty much it was still mobil and didn't hurt to bad the first day. The next day it was swollen and was turning blue and black. I also noticed that the bone pushing out a little bit. |
