I internally brused my finger...? |
I was using a paper cutter and my finger got caught in a blunt part of the blade...it did not actually cut my epidermis, but under the skin I can see that it cut blood vessles and some of the dermis ( just from the blunt force). I think the injury killed some of the dermis skin. I don't feel any pain anymore - it did not hurt much anyway, it went numb-. Any suggestions as to what I should do? My inclination is to be gentle on the finger and let it heal, but am I making a big mistake by doing that? Thanks. I should clear it up...my finger is not numb...just the places where I hurt it (its not really numb there either- just no pain). It was numb at first, but that is to be expected with any injury as the body goes into slight shock so the pain is not too bad...I doubt I injured a nerve. As long as the swelling goes down and you're still able to use it, it'll be fine. Its similar to what I've done before which is to hit my thumb or finger with a hammer and it gets all purple and gross looking, but its okay again after a while. that's what I would do, if it falls off, then you got problems! I think you hit a nerve. Go see a doctor. I would suggest that you go to the doctor. I know that that is a pretty stupid answer. However if your finger went numb thats potentially very bad. Because if a nerve was damaged it will take more than just letting it heal. |
