I have a sore swollen finger tip on the side of my nail, how do I get rid of it? |
I don't remember an injury and there is no sign of puncture. My nail seems to be fine with no ingrown. It is just painful and swollen and red and also is hot to the touch. it sounds like an ingrown....weird...however, keep an eye on it... if the swelling gets any worse you may want to see a doc. the fact that it feels hot to the touch indicates that there is an infection going on...it may need to be lanced. I had that one time..my doctor told me the old folks called it a run around. he lanced it and gave me med.for infection He told me it is from keeping your hands in water to much or not drying hands good I know that it is very painful. Try soaking it in warm salt water but best bet is go to a doctor Sounds like a infection. |
