I need help my 26yr old sister was told she has a congenital heart defect.? |
She went into the hospital with a low heart rate. The Drs. also found 2nd degree heart block, and a heart murmur. They thought it was lyme disease. She is positive for lyme disease. They now have found a congential heart defect, with a membrane that is almost creating a fifth chamber. I can not find much on the internet about adults and congential heart defect. Please help me! If your sister is positive for Lyme, she seriously needs to get to a doctor affiliated with ILADS--International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. They are the ones with the most experience dealing with it. Also, be advised that Lyme can cause heart problems, so if she had heart issues to begin with, the Lyme is even more serious for her. The Adult Congenital Heart Assosciation www.AchaHeart.org Report It Start at the American Heart Association website. You may want to check with the Stanford University Medical Hotline and look under the Cardio-Vascular Dept. Another internet line would be with Northwestern University Medical Hospital. I hope all goes well with your sister. There is no such anomaly causing fifth chamber, rather the septal defects reduce the number to three. It will be better if you give the proper diagnosis. Or else it may be something very very rare. Eat less animal fat like meat, cheese and eggs. |
