My 2 year old granddaughter has a very red rash on her face and body.? |
It looks like a doily pattern. She has had it about a week. Feels fine. Was first diagnosed as fifths disease but now the Dr. doesn't think it is. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Hmm.. did she have a fever for a few days before the break out? There is a disease called Roseola that kids can get. The rash should be gone in a few days, if not, call your doctor back. If she didn't have a fever before, then I would suggest taking her back to the doctor. my neice has something like this, its exzema if shes itchy, if not its this i think disease, when it looks like a rash with little bumps. I had it when i was twelve. it happens to most kkids, and goes away by itself. The only releif is for hewr to go outside and sit or play in the sun, because it releives the bumps and its something about the ultraviolet rays the helps the healing process. She will be fine, but if it itches, put some aquaphor on her. hopes this helps! (p.s There is not much info about the condition i just described, so ask your doctor and see what info he knows about it.) If she has a bad case of allergies, it could be eczema. you could try using a more gentle laundry detergent, or giving her a bath with aveenos baby oatmeal bath...think if she has eaten anything new recently...it could be an allergic reaction... when my daughter(now 2) was 1, she developed a rash like that on her face, near her eyes and a little bit on her body. They never really diagnosed it, they said it was probably a mild form of eczema. I used aveeno hydrocirtisone cream twice a day, and gave her lukewarm bathes wtih aveeno oatmeal bath treatment. This kept it undercontrol, eventually it just disappeared, but she still has very sensitive skin like her father but I use fragrance free shampoos, body washes and lotions and soft cotton fabrics for her clothes, and this helps keep her skin clear. A dermatologist reccommened some products to use that are gentle- cetaphil lotion and wash, aquaphor, no bubble bathes or harsh cleansers and he said to avoid anything with fragrances. I hope this helps. |
