Recurrent throat infections?
Ok..so this in the FIFTH "Throat infection" i have had THIS YEAR! Rapid onset, high fever (102-104), swollen right neck lymph node and right side throat pain, especially when swallowing, headache, and chills.
What the heck is going on? I have been to the doctor during each "outbreak", the first 2 times they gave me Zithromax and everything but the lymph node swelling went away, only to come back about 2 or 3 months later. The third time i was given Doxycycline and the fourth Amoxil.
Now, round five i went to an ENT and he just gave me Zithromax and told me to gargle with Peroxide..
I have also been to an Infectious Disease Doctor and had blood culteres done to see if something else was going on, but all was negative. I have had step tests, urine tests, mono tests..all negative.
What is the deal with these recurring throat infections!!??
I am a 27 yr old female by the way
Thanks I personally think that you need to have a tonsillectomy, you will no longer have Strep, oh and by the way, go to the doctor and tell him to culture the white stuff on your tonsil's, that will let him know what type of antibiotic to use. no sense in using an antibiotic that is not going to work on a resistant infection. |
