Fibromyalgia ..? |
Is it possible for a 17 year old to have Fibromyalgia .. i have all the symtoms that it shows esspicaly the 'tendor spots' and its said that Fibromyalgia could of been caused from injury.. and i overtrained myself from hard strengh training couple months ago for a longg time.. and since then ive been feeling the Fibromyalgia symtoms.. Yes, even young children can have Fibromyalgia. Your over training could have put you in a flare as well. (If you do have fibro). You need to learn to pace yourself. But, the first thing to do is to find out if it is Fibromyalgia. I am not a dr, but I do have fibro. I did a lot of research when I was trying to find out what I had, and I believe that although fibro usually doesn't strike so early, IT IS POSSIBLE. You need to find a dr and get checked out. hi. i have fibromyalgia and even children can get fibromyalgia. Yes, you could have it. The easiest way to find out is to go see a rheumatologist. They specialize in fibromyalgia. Be prepared for quit a few tests though. They have to rule out other things that can mimc fibromyalgia. I hope i helped and if you have any questions at all or want to just browse other peoples symptoms and other questions, go to www.dailystrength.com and they have a big forum on fibromyalgia questions. Tender spots are not the only symptoms of fibromyalgia. There are actually many symptoms of fibromyalgia - chronic fatigue, sensitivity to hot and cold, excessive thirst, cold hands and feet. I currently have a mild case of fibromyalgia because of stress over the years. Fibromyalgia patients have tender spots all over the body. Is this the case with you? or just on those muscle groups that you "overtrained"? You mention injury. Where exactly do you feel injured? If it is in your back, ruptured or compress nerves can cause pain in various parts of the body. The funny thing about fibromyalgia symptoms is that it can have so many different symptoms! Fibro is a very elusive syndrome and even experts on it don't know what causes it or how it occurs. Fibro has nothing to do with your age and can be diagnosed as far as I know at any age. It typically presents in woman between 30-50 years old but I'm sure many sufferers can tell you that's not the case with them. |
