Question about uterine fibroids? |
i was diagnosed w/ uterine fibroids and am getting lots of information that i am trying to sort out. I didn't have fibroids, but I did have several polyps, which I suppose are similar - - - - it causes the same problems anyway. I had started having irregular periods and then very heavy periods. They did a biopsy, an ultrasound and blood tests and couldn't find anything. Finally the doctor decided to do a D&C. During the D&C she found and removed the polyps. But then I also agreed for her to do the NovaSure procedure (endometrial ablation), which essentially burns the lining of the uterus. This procedure can only be done on women who are finished having children. You could say it is a nicer alternative to a hysterectomy. No I really do not think they give you those symptoms, I have them & they cause back pain lots of low stomache pressure & heavy periods. |
