Fiber pills alright for some constipation. ? |
If i get constipated somtimes, (specially after certain foods), would it be alright to take maybe about 1 fiber pill a day? It contains natural grain fiber and citrus fiber (and it actually says to take about 4-5 per day but i think thats rather unnecessary). Notice occasional blood after wiping ... and i already know i dont get enough fiber throughout my day so Im guessing i just need more fiber to stop constipation and blood right? btw, i believe my only fiber intake is during breakfast...and the cereal is only 20% of daily needed fiber... some more fiber here and there throughout the day but nothing sufficient Yes, Blood may be Hemorrhoids but you need to have that checked to be sure.Sometimes constipation is due from dehydration.Try increasing your fluids. That may be ok. Have you tried stool softeners? Also, you should check with your doc if this is an ongoing problem. Fiber pills are good for constipation. You might not notice a difference from one pill. If not, keep increasing the amount of pills every 3 days until you reach your satisfaction. Good luck. i understand so if you would like i could explain much further at my e-mail, jsmith@yahoo.com yes fiber is fine but DO NOT rely on it as a weight loss source...not that i think you are but trust me it's a BAD idea. But seeing as how you get a minimal amount of fiber i would reccomend it as needed but do not exceed the daily recommendation. I take 1 fiber supplement every day at lunch and 2 teaspoons of raw organic apple cider vinegar at dinner to prevent constipation. I'm hypothyroid and constipation is a symptom. With the above mentioned protocol I no longer have a problem. Fiber is good but you might want to make sure you are drinking enough water, its recomended that an adult drinks at least 8 8oz glasses a day. If you are already doing that you might want to see a doctor, you could have something else going on with your digestive system. Tap your stomach area with your fists as hard as you can without hurting yourself. Knees slightly bent and apart, shoulders relaxed. That should help some. yeh fiber will also help you feel much better as it also help the general digestive system. Try eating more fiber throughout the day such asapples muesli etc but if your lifestyle is a little challenging you should definately try the pills... also drink plenty of water, it helps with everything I'm the same way. It may be better to drink a small amount of prune juice or something. Fiber pills won't hurt you if you take them the way the bottle says or less. I have learned that many supplements like that don't breakdown properly and then they can't work. There are foods that are sold just for fiber, they would be next to the supplements. There are also cereals that have high fiber for people that don't get enough in their regular diet. If the constipation doesn't get better you may want to think about seeing your Dr. If it persists for too long you may end up with painful hemorrhoids or worse. Consuming too many dairy products or foods like bananas can also worsen the problem. Good luck! To relieve constipation, increasing fiber intake and drinking plenty of water are the only ways. Taking fiber caplets are harmless, and will help to get your daily intake of fiber. Just remember to drink plenty of water also. If you continue to have blood in your stool, get that checked out by a doctor because it could be something more serious. I'm not an expert on that but from experience if you do take the fiber pills make sure you drink A LOT of WATER. stool softeners work. it should help for constipation and bleeding. it works for me. as for fiber pills you don't have to take so much at once. sometimes when you don't drink that much water in a day it makes you more constipated, My husband and I are both taking 2 fiber pills a day. If it's all natural grain fiber with no additives then I don't see anything wrong with it, it would be the same as eating the food containing the grain anyways. For breakfast, cereal is good but also consider having real Orange juice with pulp too, the Vit C along with the pulp is also beneficial. Another thing besides pills for the occasional bout is having something with coconut oil/ juices (pina colada, banana mama etc.),natures natural laxative. And above all drink plenty of water. taking natural fiber rich food is good than taking fiber pills, here are some info for you: |
