Fiber diet (again)!?!?


ummm... is a fiber diet good for losing weight fast!?!?! i started this diet about 2 weeks ago where i eat LOTSSS of fiber and i used to notice all fat on my inner thighs and now i am starting to see more muscle. can i loose weight by sticking with the fiber diet because i really want to go down a few sizes; and if it will help me loose weight, how long should it take before i really start noticing it? oh yeah, this may sound gross, but this diet has made me go to the "bathroom" alot, like 2-3 times a day or so... is that a good sign?

eating a BALANCED diet w/ a BALANCED amount of fiber is good, but in terms of losing weight, you're better off using fiber as a cleanse (as long as you're not using psyllium, which dries your colon out) and eating a high protein & low carb diet, along w/ drinking plenty of water & exercising regulary.

and regards to going to the toilet 2-3 times a day ... ummmm ... that's not a lot, THAT'S NORMAL. it's when you don't go often that it's NOT NORMAL.

That's a normal side effect of a high fiber diet. As to how much weight and how fast, it would be different for everyone. It's a good healthy diet, and part of an overall weight loss program, but fast would depend on your definition of fast.

I went to a nutritionist back in 1997 who put me on a balanced diet of at least 25 grams fiber daily which came from the food I ate, no pills or powders. I ate 3 fruits a day, minimal amounts of meat, kept my calories to around an average of 13 to 1400 a day. I walked 3 miles a day 6 days a week and I lost 50lbs in around 5 to 6 months. Also kept the fat calories to less then 30 percent of the total calories.
