Fiber content in homemade juice from a juice extractor?


I recently bought a juice extractor and I really like using it. The texture of most fruits disgusts me and I can't bring myself to eat them without feeling like I want to spit them out right away. The juicer seemed like a great solution, but now I'm wondering about fiber. I always make sure there are 1-2 citrus fruits in the juice, and I've noticed the juicer leaves a foamy substance on the top of the juice. The foam is lighter in color and tastes like the white part that's left on a peeled orange or grapefruit. Is there fiber in the foam?

I do eat at least one or two whole vegetables or fruits every day aside from the juice (ones I can stomach). Am I still getting enough fiber?

The foam is a bit of the fiber. & you should force yourself to drink it fast like a shot so it doesn't disgust you so much.

As for the leftovers, it's a shame to toss out all that chopped veggies & fruit. I always try to figure out a soup, bread, ect to pu it into so I get double the benefits from juicing.

Definitely check out this book. It's info on veggie & fruit nutrients is unsurpassed in any other book on the subject I've seen. I also like the straightforward advice on starting in juicing & recipes. It's a great book for a newbie & advanced juicer.
