Endodontic fiber posts: glass vs quartz. Can you explain composition and manufacturing differences? |
I don't ask about clinical and commercial differences, but I would like to know more from the industrial, chemical and physical point of view. What are the real differences between glass and quartz fibers? For example, a typical quartz fiber post is the RTD Double-Tapered Quartz Post (RTD Geneve/Dentsply International) and typical glass fiber posts are the Luscent Anchors Glass Post (Dentatus) and the RelyX Fiber Post (3M). Quartz fiber is a glass fiber with a much bigger purity. |
