High fiber diet for weight loss? And experiences with this?


I've been doing some research on using a high fiber diet (35+ grams a day) and fiber supplements (like glucomannan) to lose weight. Anyone have a successful experience with this? Please include how many grams of fiber a day you consumed, what supplements you took, and how much weight you lost. Thank you!

I always get at least 35 grams a day, often more. I don't take any supplements, I just have a cup of Fiber One cereal with half a cup of skim milk for breakfast every day, and lunch is often a sandwich with double fiber wheat bread from Nature's Own. Avoid foods made with white flour, you can always get more fiber from a food made with whole grains. Also, eat lots of fruit and veggies. It also helps to write down how many calories you eat a day. You should be getting about 1200-1500 a day, maybe a bit more if you are really active. I've lost about 30 pounds since March.

Don't forget to take lots of water, or you will have adverse efects on this diet, fiber works along with water otherways it is not gonna do it's job, and you might suffer constipation, good luck and stay healthy! Report It

    seriously... forget the pills, and you dont need to count the fiber in your food, cant have too much, so eat a few leaves of lettuce and a couple of celery sticks and you're more than set.
