What are some good sources of Fiber??


Like, i don't have access to a gazillion carrots, celery (EW!!!), and all that good stuff. I mean, i have some access to it, but what are some things that you can eat regularly to get Fiber? I can't take fiber pills, i'm only 15, I don't like taking multi-vitamins because i saw a program where they looked in a portable bathroom and they saw hundreds of un-desolved multi-vites.

I heard that eating fiber helps you lose weight so are there any foods, snack-foods, or anything that's "fiberlicious"?
What foods do we already regularly eat that has fiber in it? I want to get MORE fiber... erm.. how do i go about doing that??

Whole grain foods are a good source of fiber. Things like whole grain breads, crackers, whole wheat pasta, etc. There are some really delicious breakfast cereals (Kashi Go Lean Crunch, Cheerios, etc) also are high in fiber. So are beans - kidney, chick peas, pinto, and others.

Many vegetables are fiber rich too. Corn, broccoli, lettuce, the list is endless.

Basically, the more processed the food, the less fiber is in it.

The reason that high fiber foods "help" with weight control is because you feel fuller sooner so you tend to eat less. Eating these types of foods should be a life choice because they pormote over all health, not just because you are thinking it is going to give you the body of a model.

One of best sources of fiber is fruit, like pineapple, apricots, apples,, and some veggies are carrots, spinach, broccoli, dry beans, like red beans or pinto beans, celery is good, but it's not enough. At this point, I don't remember any more.
I don't believe that there is a good fiber snack food.
Sometimes, you can add dairy, in your diet, like yogurt, cottage cheese, milk, sour cream. When you add dairy, in your diet, it also helps to lose weight.
and of course, walking will help to gain stamina, and strength it also helps to lose weight.
There is a lot of pills for fiber, but you could probably take Metamucil. Which is a lot of fiber, but with that you need to drink more water. I know you are only 15. But your mom may give you the permission to take it.

any fruits and veggies
any All Bran and Fiber One products (like cereal and oatmeal and granola bars)
Kashi high fiber products (like cereals, etc)
any whole wheat bread and fruit
prune juice and prunes
dried fruit, but they are higher calorie

anything with bran. bran flakes work and you can put them in banana nut muffins (it's delicious!). just check the nutrition facts on things u like annd compare.
