My adoptive children have partial fetal alcohol syndrome?

one has significant delays in speech and socialization the other is to young to tell we are seeing a specialist but i would like to hear from a parent who has been through this how did your child cope and are they a fuctioning adult

By "partial fetal alcohol syndrome" you probably mean Fetal Alcohol Effect, which does not include all the symptoms and effects of FAS, but comes with its own issues.

FAS/FAE (now also, in combination, called Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder) is best diagnosed early in order to provide the best interventions for children. Children with FASD require lots of structure, really firm boundaries, and consistency. Yes, they can function as adults, and you shouldn't give up hope. It's really important you get support for yourself, as it can be really frustrating to parent a child with various behaviours.

I have worked with lots of children with FASD and those with the best chances of becoming happy, functioning adults received early diagnoses and intervention. Good for you for getting that help for them now.

DON'T SIGN ANYTHING RIGHT AWAY: BE SURE TO READ IT CAREFULLY: YOU NEED TO GET AN EVALUATION DONE BY THE SCHOOL THEY CAN PROVIDE THE SPEECH EVALUATION..ASK FOR A COPY OF EVALUATION WHEN THEY ARE DONE . kEEP IN CONTACT WITH THE SPEECH THEARPIST . MY CHILD IS COPING WELL
