Is taking fertility pills bad if one has ovarian cyst?

My friend who's 40, is desperate to have a baby.But she has hormonal imbalance. She was given medication for hormone regulation and fertility but has to stop 'coz she has small ovarian cyst(benign).She was told that the fertility pill makes the cyst grow big.What other steps can she take to conceive?

I would highly recommend she consult a doctor who will determine if her lack of fertility is due to ovarian cysts. The ovarian cysts, and the underlying hormonal imbalance (insulin) that can cause them, need to be looked at holistically in order to achieve a better balance than she is getting now.

its rare to get cysts that can be dangerous, its called ovarian hyerstimulation, pretty much everyone has begnign ovarian cysts. your eggs aka follicles actually turn into little cysts and then rupture during ovulation, if you notice you will have cramp one a diff side each month, its the side you will usualy have the cyst on, for your friend she should be ok, cysts are perf ok to have up to a cert size, if she takes clomid, the chances are slim that she have severe side effects from it
