Birth control and then fertility drugs? Can someone please clarify for me?

I have fertility issues. I don't have a regular period, and need to take a pill constantly to even have a period. I have been trying to get pregnant for a long time now. At my last Dr. visit my doctor put me on birth control for 2 months. He said this was to "ready" my ovaries for fertility drugs. So at the end of the two month cycle of the birth control, I will be put on clomid, for fertility. Has anyone ever had this happen to them, or even heard of this? Has clomid ever worked for anyone out there before? And what are the chances of it working and me getting pregnant in the first month that I take it? Thanks so much everyone!!

The problem is you are TRYING... stop trying.

Sounds weird, but its true!

My mom tried and tried to get pregnant and she was unsuccessful.

She finally quit trying.

She got pregnant not long after she stopped trying.

With trying, you are putting yourself into a stressful situation, which affects conceiving. Not trying means you are more relaxed and not constantly thinking "i want to get pregnant".

As for the clomid, I've heard of women using that and being successful.

Yes. you should have posted this question in Trying to conceive.
Well from being on this site I have heard of many of women going through the same treatment method that you are and going on the have a successful pregnancy.

I'm just trying to figure out why they are putting you on clomid ? are you not ovulating because that is what clomid is used for to help you ovulate.

Good luck and baby dust to you
