Why would a fertility specialist recommend the rubella vaccine?

Why would a fertility specialist recommend the rubella vaccine? Why does he suggest a waiting period after the vaccination and before conceiving?

If you have rubella, it can screw up your fetus big time. The waiting period is possibly in case you have a reaction to the vaccine.

You must not have had a rubella vaccine before. Rubella infection of the mother can be very damaging to a growing fetus. So the MD wants you to vet vaccinated and protected. The reason for waiting is to ensure that you have mounted a full immune response and the recovered from the vaccine efore pregnancy.

By the way, smart Dr. thank them some would forget.
