Does anyone know a contact lens brand that can be adjusted for astigmatism and farsightedness?

i have astigmatism and my doctor says im also farsighted. Becuase of this my prescriptions is kinda complicated. the problem is the lenses i wear are very anoying and uncomfortable. The brand i wear is toric 55. is there anyway to get lenses from another rand like acuvue or something that can fit my prescription?

I have the same problem as you. I was wear toric lenses, but I found my vision wasn't as sharp as I'd like. I asked the doctor to put me back on gas permeable lenses. It corrects the astigmatism and gives sharp clear vision. They take a bit of getting used to and you have to slowly build your wearing time, whereas with the soft lenses you're good to go. RPG's are cheaper in the long run and will last for years if you don't lose them or chip them. My brand is Boston Envision. 2D

acuvue does make a contact lens for astigmatism.

Bausch & Lomb
Soflens Toric Contact Lens

Soflens Toric has a unique ' Smart Auto Sharp ' lens design that aligns and stabilizes the astigmatic axis regardless of eye movement , ensuring clear and stable vision.

Soflens Toric is made with alphafilcon A which comprises 66% water which helps enhance oxygen permeability. This non- ionic material also minimizes the protein build-up that can cause irritation , so your eyes healthier and more comfortable.

Because of the shape of the lens for hyperopia (far sighted), which means that it bulges slightly in the center (more bulge for higher spherical rating, ie. +2.00, +4.00 ect), where it is thicker. This can cause more lens awarness, or uncomfotability for some with CL's prescribed for hyperopia, particularly when this is compounded with the toric lens design for astigmatism.

Many toric lens designs have thicker and thinner portions, and are often cited as being less comfortable than traditional spherical contact lenses. This has been my personal experience as well. Though it hasn't been outlandish, it did take me longer to adjust to soft toric lenses--they were not comfortable from moment one like the spherical lenses were, and it took me a while to get used to the "lens awarness". I would not say that they were uncomfortable per say, but I was much more aware of them.

I would talk to your OD about finding the right combination of materials and design and fit to make your lenses comfortable. I am a big fan of Purevision torics for instance (what I wear), and while they have incredible clarity of vision and are trouble free for long wearing times, they are made of a thicker silicone hydrogel material that in your prescription for hyperopia and astigmatism might not be the thinnest, most comfortable choice.
