Can eyesight be corrected (near and farsightedness) without lasik surgery?

I heard there are exercises to reverse eyesight loss. True? I would love to be able to read again without reading glasses.

A new procedure can correct a wide range of nearsightedness. Phakic intraocular lens surgery which takes 15 minutes, and no hospitalization corrects severe nearsightedness by implanting a lens behind the cornea. Can correct degrees of nearsightedness beyond the scope of lasik surgery and can treat people with thin corneas.
The natural lens is not removed and an implant lens is slipped between the natural lens and the cornea. Lasik procedure can treat nearsightedness of up to -10 diopter, phakic IOL surgery was initially developed for treating more severe nearsightedness but also has far better results in 10 diopter range.
Lasik surgery can result in patients experiencing glare. No such symptoms occur after phakic IOL surgery as the cornea is not treated, even if the eyesight has been corrected to a large degree. Has been approved by the U.S..Food and Drug Administration.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but not true..;

i don't think thats ture but, if u wear ur glasses u might not need them in the near furture!

I've heard of the eye exercises, but don't think that works. THere is a new procedure out there where people wear special contact lenses to bed that reshape the eye while you sleep. It's called CRT. After wearing them for a couple of months you are supposed to have improved vision and no longer need glasses/contacts

I haven't ever heard of this as being true.

arn't you asking about the reversible process for the lost vision ? myopia or hypermetropia ? we get lot of books on railway platforms and bust stations titled " better eye sight without glassess" and "throw away the spectacles", " No more weight on your face" etc. colourfully tempting for a bye. But so far i have not witnessed anyone benefited with such kind of books or whatever. The flexibility or the elasticity of the body system to some extent can be kept intact with the yoga practice. But i have even seen many yoga instructors wearing glassess.I have not seen either from yoga someone being benefited as a case. However the normal sight (say ability to see the small letters from the specified distance, even better than the normality ) can be achieved in the deep sleep or amnesia state of hypnotism.But i am not sure if that state can be sustainable under normal mind condition. Lasik though it is being said to be the most safest and latest technology developed, complete after affects are not yet known and further studies are to be done..( I have seen many lasik surgeons wearing glassess ???)

In homeopathy physostigma is a medicine that is useful in improving distant vision. But i am not sure about the cured cases.
Lot of research is going on in eye care and vision development and the younger generation can expect the fruits of the same , may be within a decade......Nano technology development and stem therepy may contribute in future a lot.

so Let us not get depressed. with what we have right at the moment.

Have great vision.
