Has anyone heard of an eye probem like mine?

i have started noticing that most of the time when i look at stars (i'm an amateur stargazer), i see two very close points of light, even though nothing else i look at around me appears doubled. I aso see these bright, tiny light trails, like a tiny meteor, in dim light or the dark occasionally, maybe a few times a month.
I wear glasses, the progressive lenses because i had farsightedness and astigmatism since childhood and now problems from aging (i'm 58) of nearsightedness. And its been 3-4 years since i had my eyes examined. I know i need to get them checked, and wil probably need new prescription. but these problems don't seem like just needing glasses adjusted, they seem like something separate.

You should get your eyes checked.

My mother had symptoms like yours 9 years ago. She is also farsighted and wears bifocals. She was seeing flashes of light and light trails. When she went to her Ophthalmologist, he told her she was having retinal detachment and needed surgery right away. Retinal detachment is a serious medical problem. Without surgery, you can have blindness.

Anything dealing with flashes of light needs to be checked ASAP because they are a sign of serious problems.

Get to your Ophthalmologist as soon as possible. Your problem may or may not be Retinal Detachment, but it could still be something serious that should be surgically corrected.

no

I think it is because you bring it to much light in your eye which makes u "see things" differently. Have them checked, it could be something serious!

when you get your eyes tested mention this to your optomistrist

Star gazing plays tricks on the eyes because we here on earth have to look through the atmosphere which gives us a distorted view. Telescopes in space get a clear view of what is out there. I would get my eyes checked to insure your prescription has not changed.

Check your blood pressure - it may seem faulty. Secondly, the streaks you see are there - I have seen them too..its like a lazer shoot out in space sometimes..but there's nothing on the news and no-one is talking about it. I had my eyes checked and have new lenses..though the sights up there are still there - so it is something else even if nobody else sees it. More fool them as I say.

My advice Is go to the doctor you might have cataracts coming on or something like that so cater acts is very fast moving and some are slow. don't' take a chance you wouldn't want to lose your eye sight
