I just got false teeth. I cannot chew at all. Can you tell me what kinds of food I can eat?

I just got my top teeth removed and next week my lowers. My mouth hurts bad. I cannot chew at all. Can someone tell me different foods and recipes I can eat the do not require teeth? Please help

Soft diet only until you get adjusted to the dentures, you will have to do this for a few weeks with doing the lowers next week.

Scrambled eggs, mac and cheese, rich thick soups and stews, cheese stuffed baked potato, mashed potato, pasta, smoothies and ice cream are just a few.

If you think about it, there are a lot of foods that you probably like that require little to no chewing. Hope these foods offer you some relief. Things will get better as you heal and have adjustment made to the denture so it will fit better. Good luck with your lower and healing process.

Mashed potatoes

cook 4-6 potatoes until tender
add half of a stick of butter
1tsp pepper or more to taste

whip potatoes while adding cream or milk until fluffy and creamy.

Scrambled eggs

2-3 eggs whipped in a bowl
add butter to a skillet
add eggs and cook until done

Your dentist should have explained the need for soft foods at first. Anything that is soft. Soup, oatmeal, rice, pudding, eggs, potatoes, etc. Keep your dentures in as much as possible to help you get use to them. Rinse your mouth after eating with salt water (2 tsp. salt/juice glass warm water). Rub the gum tissue with a wet washcloth. The cleaner you keep the area, the faster it will heal. You can work up to tougher foods in a week or so, but don't try to force it now...

I had all my teeth pulled 6 months ago and I can onl eat with my bottoms ones out due to my gums went down so much so I have been eating mac and cheese any thiny soft yogart jello I lost 30 pounds at the same time I look like a new person. You should not be still having pain unless you have used a straw and that is not a good thing I had both done was not knocked out and my pain lasted 2 days tops I have a high threshold for pain.
