Question for people with a full set of false teeth?

are they painful? how much (on average) do they cost? do they "slip" often? do you wish you still had your orginal teeth?

My dad has them and they're only painful to him when food slides up underneath them and cuts his gums. I think insurance covered them. They don't slip... you need to wear them continuously. If not, your gums will sag and they won't fit right. He wears them 24/7 unless he cleans them obviously so he never has problems. I don't think he cares about his original teeth...they just all kept falling out so this is probably for the best haha

just like stowchick... said my Mom has them too and so did my father who diesd 6 years ago and they had no problem untill they got up in age around 70 they started to complain about how hard foods were to chew and the things that they coked from that point on was like mush it texture. and if they had there original teeth they would not be eating soft mush texture foods and they commented tht they wished they still had there teeth

oh yea and my mother paid about $2250 in all fittings and all top and bottom and teeth pulling

I am 26. I have porcelain tooth tops attached to steel inserts. IAn insert is a steel peg that gets attached to your jaw. It comes up through your gums and leaves just a little stub on top. The dentist will then attach your porcelain tooth to the stub. I love my porcelain teeth. They feel ultra strong with no hot cold sensitivity. They brush completely clean and look fantastic. They are permanently attached. They are the most expensie method you can get. Since I am 26 and will have these for many more years I figured it was worth the $5000 dollars per tooth

I have full set, have had them for 34yrs no they are not painful, I do not regret getting them at all, as for as cost, I don't know now,but when I got mine it cost $500.00 so you will have to find that out.
