Let's say this is your 1st set and you have never wore one before.

First of all, you will probably feel there is something in your mouth that is not food. Your mouth will produce more saliva and to secrete it at a higher rate. Gagging might be a problem for some patient. However, after a few days, your brain will sense this appliance is not food and you will get used to it. New dentures will also be the inevitable cause of sore spots as they rub and press on the mucosa. A few denture adjustments for the weeks following insertion of the dentures can take care of this issue.

you prob get used to them

I had all of my top teeth pulled and I hate it. My dentures make me gag and I can't wear them. Now I have to walk around with no top teeth. I bought denture glue and that is really a mess when you take out your teeth. If you really don't need all of your teeth pulled I suggest you don't do it. If you leave some teeth in then you will have something for your dentures to hook to.
