Fainting of 9year old son?

My son fainted suddenly while he was eating a (sugary) snack. Within seconds, he was conscious, talked clearly and he walked to his bed. I dont think i noticed any fits-like movements. He is not under any medication. He was just playing in the hot sun, 3hrs prior to the fainting spell. He had a fainting spell 2 months ago also but the dr who was (luckily)with him said that it was nothing- maybe because he didnt eat well that morning.

I am seeing the dr again soon, but just couldnt wait. Is everything ok with him? Thanks

I'm sorry to hear that. He may have low blood sugars. He may be dehydrated. Make sure he drinks plenty of water in the hot sun. I'm glad you are taking him to the doctor again. Hope he feels better. Good luck.

HI,
I am sorry to hear about your sons problem. My first thought would be diabetes shock. Your sons insulin level could spike or drop very quickly. Then go back to normal. This is some thing a Doctor must test and I think this should be done very soon. I know it sounds scary but the faster they find out the problem the sooner they can treat it. It is not normal or a good thing for a child to black out, not for any reason at all. The heat from the sun could have been a factor. If you do not like the answers you get from his doctor go to another. What the one Doctor said that it was nothing that your son blacked out, that is a pile of dog dodo. A child does not faint for no reason ! If your son did not eat well that morning then his blood sugar may drop way to low thus he blacked out. I have low blood sugar and get very light headed if I do not eat. Then I know I must get some thing or I risk black out also. This is some thing you and your son need to know about and now.
