Ques about Fainting?

I was in so much pain today from my pelvic bone that I got clammy and got the fainting feeling so I lied down.I now that lying down and putting my head at a lower level than my body stops fainting but can a person still faint while doing this anyway?

Yes a person can still faint while laying down, but it's not very common. It depends on your reason for fainting for example: if you have pain, putting your head at a lower level usually doesn't stop the fainting, but if you're not getting adequate oxygen to your brain, then lieing down with your head lower then your body may help the blood flow to the brain.

my neurologist told me you can't faint while lying on your back. you can still faint if you lower your head forward.

I have knee problems and when it pops I pass out or faint from the pain. You are doing what my dr. tells me to do but I have still fainted while lying down, it's just a little safer. You won't normally but if the pain is inteanse enough you can still faint. I'm not sure why it helps but most of the time it stops you from fainting. Hope that answers your question.

I'm not sure if a person can still faint by being in that position, but I don't think that it's supposed to be safe to keep one's head in a lower level of their body for too long as the blood rushes to the head. Perhaps you should get your pelvis examined if you were in that much pain to where you felt as though you were about to faint. You may have injured it or worse. Please do contact your doctor and get medical attention.
