How to stop myself from fainting?

I have only fainted once in my life 3 years ago so i know what it feels like. after i fainted whenever i stand up for a long period of time i feel like i am going to faint. My school has manditory masses and i always feel like im going to faint and have come very close to fainting. I had a blood test to see if there was anything wrong with me but it was negative. I have a school mass this thursday and i need some tricks to no faint. people have told me to eat but i ate a whole meal one time and it didnt work. any adivice would be great

I also cant bring in water to the mass and its when we have to stand up in the mass that i feel like im going to pass out. It would be pretty bad to pass out in the middle of a mass in front of all my friends

Lift your head first if you are bowing before you stand. Take it slwly and don't rush. Keep you're breathing steady and keep your feet a good distance apart to stable yourself. Think about steding yourself and don't let yourself feel dizzy.

Try it at home, it may feel stupid but by doing it on your own you can perfect the way that works for you.

GoodLuck!

belive me i faint too. when i get shots. oh and when i got my ears peirced. ouch. what i do is sit down when i fell woozy and eat something. something sugary to get my blood sugar up. hope i helped!

Sometimes standing up suddenly can cause you to faint due to a drop in blood pressure. If this is the case you should stand up slowly to let your blood pressure adapt to the change in position. If this is a recurring problem you should see a doctor to make sure there is no underlying problem causing this. You can speak to a teacher or school nurse before the mass and explain the situation. I'm sure they will understand and make accomodations for you if needed.

  • Is this fainting?

Sounds like you just barely avoided fainting. You can avoid it sometimes if you realize it fast enough and can sit quick. The question is why.
