Fainting/anxiety?

I fainted twice when i was younger the doctor wasent sure from what but he though it was lack or iron in my blood. Or an anxiety attack...Now i been thinking about it when i go places..like if im in the mall i start thinking to myself what if i would just faint then i start getting all the symptoms like getting hot and real nervous and just start loosing focus of whats going on...Is there anything out there that could help me stay focus with whats going on and not think about fainting all the time when im in public places or at someones house b/c this **** is really starting to piss me off and i just dont want to think about it anymore but i cant keep it out of my head

yes I can help. the symptoms match perfectly with anxiety. i recommend see a courser and talk with your doctor.

Alright whatcha need to do is calm down and stop getting worked up about it or your going to have another axiety attack and i do bleive what thats called. So If something likehappend again dont go to your doctor go to a nerilogical specialist and he/or she can explain it better.

It's probably an anxiety/ panic attack (ESPECIALLY if accompanied by 'irrational' fear of any kind). I faint, or come close to fainting, in overly emotional situations-- much to my poor boyfriend's dismay *sheepish*

I would suggest explaining this to your friends or anyone who would be accompanying you so that they understand what's happening if/ when you get faint. If they recognize what's happening, they can get you to sit on a bench until it passes or talk you through it (my BF talks to me and keeps me responding until I'm more alert-- if he didn't, I'd probably completely lose consciousness, which could be potentially dangerous).

If you're alone, get yourself seated as soon as you recognize the symptoms. Stay upright if you can: laying down will only encourage your body to shut off. Remember to take deep breaths and put your worries in perspective if you can ('Is this happening because I'm worried about fainting?' or 'I'm not in danger') ideally you can have a friend talk to you since you're probably distracted by the symptoms you're experiencing. Trust that they can SEE that you're okay and know that they'd call 911 for you if you needed it.

BTW, I tell myself that 'I can't faint because they'll call 911 and I can't really afford a ride in the ambulance'. That works for me :)

Some groups have actually begun training helper dogs to recognize anxiety attacks but you probably don't need to consider getting a service dog unless this is becoming seriously dehabilitating.

Next time you see your doctor, ask if they think putting you on a 'tilt table' might help with diagnosis (you lay on a bed that tilts you at an angle and if you faint, you probably have a medical condition such as undiagnosed low blood pressure). Also, a psychologist may be able to give you extra 'grounding' or 'centering' techniques that will halt the attack in its tracks and calm you down.
