Breathing , Fainting Episode?

Does or is a person breathing during a fainting episode? I ask because i want to know if i will be breathing if i ever find myself in that situation. I am 13 years old and i fainted once, but i want to know if i was breathing and if my brain was getting enough oxygen to begin with? Please Help me out here!!

depends on why you fainted. Although holding your breath can cause you to faint from lack of oxygen, you will most likely be breathing when you hit the ground. It's a saftey device built into the human body. If deprived of oxygen long enough the body shuts itself down. When you are unconscious your body does what comes natural, breathes.
