BDD + eating disorder + insecurities.. help me please...? |
i have a severe insecurity about my chubby cheeks. it's to the point that i have a mild case of body dysmorphic disorder... i check the mirror constantly to reassure myself that i'm okay. i know that the only way to lose the chubbiness in my face is by losing weight, the problem is, i'm 5'5" and 113 lbs (female), and this is my ideal weight. Since i've been wanting to lose more weight (to lose facial fat), i've developed an eating disorder, where i go through cycles of depriving myself to lose weight, then seeing how difficult it is to lose weight, i'd get depressed and go through binging episodes. i've lost 10 lbs so far and my goal is to reach 100 lbs, but i fear that i will be anorexically thin by then. also, i am a student so i can't afford cosmetic surgery to do lipo. i don't know what to do, i am so helpless. i am soo unbelievably insecure about this. You are the perfect weight for your height, nothing needs changing. honey, honestly, if your ego is so fragile you shouldn麓t expose yourself to the answers you may get here. You should see a nutricionist, a psychologist, or both. Try saving the money if you want a lipo done. Make it a long-term goal, from here to 1 year you麓ll have the money saved up. Think of ways to save! I think that chubby cheeks are cute, I have what my boyfriend calls "cherub cheeks" he's says it makes me look angelic and that when I smile, my cheeks make my whole face smile instead of just my lips. My advice to you is to love your cheeks, don't change them. You are not overweight, losing more weight will most likely not change your cheeks. I would look into some counseling if you need help accepting your beautiful self. Especially if you have other insecurities. In a nutshell, you need therapy not cosmetic surgery! I know that this probably won't help you, but I have to say it. About the eating disorder: I've been there recently and it's so not worth it. You may not know it, but depriving yourself of food WILL make you lose your hair and it's not fun believe me. It's a damage to your body and as a woman I'm sure that you couldn't imagine life with no hair. So stop the binging and purging and see a nutritionist. That's what I did, and I'm on the track to better health. It's been extremely hard, but it's necessary. You are made to God's perfect specifications. You have the ideal weight however you are pressuring yourself over what you call chubby cheeks. You were made in perfection...please allow yourself to see your own beauty. I am sure others see you as a beautiful person so you should too. OMG, your fine. If you are an adult, then grow up because you seriously need to get over the fact that you are skinny and that there are people out there who weight like 250 pounds and that need to go on a diet and need to lose weight. Do you weight 250 pounds? NO. So dont worry about it! |
