How bad does eyes have to be that you can't wear eye contacts?

My eyes are a little worst than 20/400 eye vision.
I am very busy, and I don't want to waste time to drive 50 minutes to the eye docter to have him tell me that I can't wear them. Thanks if you can answer this.

It is not a waste of time. There are conditions that might prevent you from wearing contacts other than your eyesight numbers that you quoted above.

In order to make doubly sure when you call for an appointment tell the eye doctor or receptionist the problem.

If you speak to the receptionist ask her to speak to the doctor and get back to you about whether he thinks that an appointment is necessary.
