How would i know if i need to wear eye glasses?

without going to the eye doctor since i'm too busy.

Well first.... how old are you? If you are 40+ then it is very likely that you will need glasses for reading. But it will be very obvious that you need glasses because you will no longer be able to read books/magazines etc... without straining or a magnifying device.
Another way would be if you drive you get an eye test to make sure you can drive safely with your visual acuity. If the test said you had 20/20 vision then you may not need correction. Also if you experience eyestrain, blurriness, sore tired or red eyes at the end of the day then you probably will need glasses/contacts.

Anyways even if you do not need eyeglasses it is very important to still get your eyes checked. There are many eye diseases that can end in blindness and if caught early can be prevented. Its very important to continue routine eye exams....it could save your sight :)

try reading words at a distance or near you. try reading while covering your eyes one at a time. if you find it blurry then it may be a sign that you need glasses

Going to see an optician is really the only way you'll really know, but you could always go into a store where they sell 'ready made' reading glasses and see if you can improve your ability to see small print by selecting an appropriate pair of spectacles. However, don't forget that an eye examination not only lets you know if you need corrective lenses, but can also pick up the early signs of eye disease. Try to find time for that eye check!
